Truly amazing day! We rolled out of the Blue Spruce campground and headed to the marina.

We rented the biggest boat we could find. A 16′ fishing boat. 🚣 The plan was to rent stand up paddle boards but it was half the price to rent a boat! Go figure. Turns out, lucky for us, that Jack is a remarkable boater. He drove that thing like he’d been doing it his whole life. Hence his new name: Captain Jack.

Then, to add to my delight, Jack drove the RV for awhile. The driving we have been doing is so hard. This was a few miles of easy back to Durango so I took advantage of it.

Talk about hard driving, the hardest yet the best was just in front of us. The road from Durango to Ouray is scary, hairy, and breathtakingly beautiful. I would love to drive this in a little Porsche. An RV? Not so much. Kate took a time lapse of the last 20 miles or so. You must watch these 2 minutes.

We made it safe and sound. Parked ourselves in a campground and wrapped my white knuckles around a glass of wine. Unhooked our bikes for a ride into town, came home and the kids made me dinner. We ended our evening with a bike ride to the hot springs. Epic day. I loved every minute of it. So thankful for so many things and so much magic.
