Do you know the way to Santa Fe? ðŸŽ¶

For me, Santa Fe has always been my soul rejuvenating weekend trip. I’ve been coming here since 1990. It clears my head, refreshes my being, and always shows me beauty. Fortunately, the journey is half the beauty. The route from Denver is fairly mundane unless you veer off the interstate and take the Highway of Legends beginning in La Veta, and making a half circle through the Spanish peaks. Stunning, I tell you.

These peaks are named the Wahatoya… which translates to “breasts of the earth”. This view is what gives me the calms every. single. time.

Considering this road trip began at 5:00 a.m., more coffee is needed. Paradise Coffee in La Veta, here we come.

The morning was perfect for the Highway of Legends drive.

These rock formations are called “dykes” and are a part of the Dakota Wall.

North Lake…gorgeous!

Back on the interstate in New Mexico. Whoops! 😬
