As I look back on my past blogs and soak in the memories, I realize that I want them all in one place. Here is my attempt to import my five other trip blogs. Shakin' The Tree, It'll Do Adventure, It'll Do Adventure Two, Wine, Bread, Coffee, and Tulips, Clogs and Herring Oh My! Wish …
Goodbyes, sunshine and organizing.
Woke up early to a beautiful day. Made a pot of French press coffee for me, and as I promised last night, I made a pot of percolated coffee (in my Colette Bozeman) for Cor and Marian. I said goodbye to my new Dutch friends with three cheek kisses (right, left, right). We exchanged contact …
New friends and coincidences.
I set up camp in Monument Colorado wearing my new Delft T-shirt I picked up in....Delft. Lo and behold, I find myself camping next to a couple from...wait for it... The Netherlands! They live outside of Rotterdam in a town I can't pronounce. They picked up an RV in Chicago and are traveling to L.A. …
New Blog, old and new wanderings
On my first all-by-myself RV weekend in a while, I have decided to converge old and new travel blogs. Today, again, is the first day of the rest of my life. Grateful for anyone who wants to join me in my wanderings. Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
Amsterdam
We saved the big city for our last day. We both knew that we didn't want to spend much time here, and we made the right decision. While I'm happy we were able to explore a few famous neighborhoods in Amsterdam, it was so crowded and difficult to maneuver. Cars are not much of an …
Food
I thought I would do a post on food. We pretty much ate our way through The Netherlands (and drank, but that's another story 🍷). We always love to pick up market foods and eat a smorgasbord. We tried many street foods, and also had some amazing restaurant meals. Feast your eyes...

As much as I love this country, their stairs are my nemesis. Seriously. They are short. Maybe only half of my foot fits. They are STEEP. they almost always curve. Fine. But try this with a wheelie bag and tote!!! Here are just a few I captured. t
The Magic Castle
This is the queen reporting from Landgoid Duin & Kruidberg estate in northern Holland. This property has changed hands many times over the past 400 years, but the most noble hands were of King William III of England in 1682. The weather is perfect, my grounds are immaculate, my chefs are aproned up and ready …
Keukenhof Gardens
These gardens were on my list of must-sees. I was worried because it seemed that most of the tulip fields had already been harvested. We met a mother/daughter duo from Texas/Ohio who told us the gardens were indeed in bloom. Apparently these world famous gardens plant blooms for early-mid-late so that there are flowers until …
Mother’s Day…
....started with a train to Leiden with champagne. And then...THE BEACH!! Our favorite spot of the day, Noordwijk ann Zee. It was a gorgeous day to spend people watching, dog frolicking and snacking. And a cute hotel in Lisse with a beautiful Mother's Day dinner menu. Perfect.
