Black Canyon of The Gunnison

Stunning. We took a two mile hike to the rim this morning. I've seen the north rim before, but the south rim seems even more spectacular. I am in awe. We city folks forget that we have this majestic natural wonder right here in Colorado. See for yourself.

Day one continued…

We made it to what I call the Oasis. A beautiful spot between LaVeta and Walsenberg at the base of the Wahatoya (meaning "Breasts of the Earth"). Had a wonderful evening eating, laughing and hot tubbing with Brian's parents. The humming birds are EVERYWHERE! Oh, and Kate kissed a frog. He is still a frog.
