….sent me on an adventure today. It’s called the Alpine Loop. They made it sound so lovely. “It’s a bit rocky” they said. OhmyGodOhmyGodOhmyGodOhmyGod! At first it was indeed lovely. Then I thought “oh, I think I need to put it in 4WD. This will be fun!” Um, it was crazy. Most people were in ATVs or Jeeps. I’m in the giant Suburban!!! I made it half way and into Silverton. Now I just have to decide how to get back to Lake City!!! Helicopter would be ideal. The pictures are of the mild stuff where I felt comfortable stopping to take a picture. There are no pictures of the white knuckled crazy spots where I wouldn’t stop for anything!! As I got closer to Silverton, there was a cool ghost town!
